Devon Pc rape case jury considers verdict
A jury considering its verdict in the case of a police officer accused of raping a woman in Devon has been sent home for the evening.
Pc Nicholas Stone, 40, of Taunton, accused of attacking the woman in 2001, denies rape and misconduct offences.
Pc Stone said he had consensual sex with the woman in Tiverton.
Summing up at Exeter Crown Court, Judge Graham Cottle told the jury that its decision must not be influenced by emotion or prejudice.
Pc Stone was working Devon and Cornwall Police and was based in Tiverton at the time of the alleged offences.
He has served with Avon and Somerset Police since 2001, the court heard earlier.
