The family of a man whose stabbed and shot body was found in a car near a Chester police station have paid tribute to "the kindest man".

Thomas Martin Ithell, known as Martin, was found dead in Blacon Avenue in the early hours of Saturday.

A man, 22, and woman, 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

In a statement issued by Cheshire Police, the family said Mr Ithell was a "wonderful" partner to Sarah and was "always there to help anyone".

They added: "It is so unfair and totally devastating that the kindest, loving and most generous man has been so cruelly taken from us.

"We will all miss him so much and just cannot come to terms with what has happened."
