A man from West Yorkshire has pleaded guilty to a £1m burglary at an East Sussex country mansion.

Graham Harkin, 58, from Wakefield, admitted the porcelain burglary at Firle Place in Lewes, in July 2009, when he appeared in court.

The estate, which is open to the public, has been the home of the Gage family for more than 500 years and is used as a film and TV location.

Harkin is due to be sentenced on Friday at Carlisle Crown Court.
