Police warning for Hereford's derby against Shrewsbury

More than 100 police officers and staff have been sent to maintain public order during and after Hereford United's derby match against Shrewsbury Town.

When the Football League sides met at Greenhous Meadow in November fighting broke out involving more than 100 fans.

Anyone found causing trouble this time at Edgar Street stadium was likely to be arrested and charged, police said.

West Mercia Police said it had drafted in officers from Shrewsbury to monitor known trouble makers.

The force said it had a substantial presence inside and outside the grounds during and after the League Two match and hoped fans of both teams enjoyed the game which began at 1300 BST and ended Hereford 0 Shrewsbury 2.
