Man required brain surgery after Wolverhampton attack
A man has undergone brain surgery after an unprovoked attack in Wolverhampton.
Officers were called to reports of a fight in King Street, close to the junction with Dudley Street, at about 23:55 BST on Saturday.
Police found a 25-year-old man unconscious with serious head injuries, who remains in a critical condition.
It is thought he was attacked by two or possibly three men. Anyone with information should contact West Midlands Police or Crimestoppers.
Det Insp Gary Plant said. "Enquiries to-date would lead us to believe that this was an unprovoked attack on a man who was enjoying a night out in the city centre."
