Cheshire Police charge man over poppy donation thefts

A 33-year-old man has been charged with stealing a number of Royal British Legion collection boxes across Cheshire on Armistice Day.

The man was arrested by officers at an address in Latchford, Warrington.

Poppy Appeal donations were stolen from eight locations, including a bakery in Frodsham and outlets in Padgate, Grappenhall and Chester.

The man, who has been charged with four counts of theft between 6 and 11 November, has been remanded in custody.
