Men to face trial for drug offences in September

A group of men accused of drug offences after police raids in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex will face trial in September.

At Ipswich magistrates four men pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply cannabis between 20 June and 5 December 2011. Four others entered a not guilty plea.

All eight men are due before Ipswich Crown Court on 24 September.

Six of the men have been remanded in custody. The trial is expected to last eight weeks. They were arrested after police raids in December last year.

Officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) - a regional crime squad that tackles cross-border organised crime - carried out the raids.
