Ex-detective denies murder of partner Heather Cooper
A former detective has pleaded not guilty to murdering his police officer partner at their Surrey home.
Heather Cooper, 33, who served with Surrey Police, was killed by a blow to the head and a stab wound to the throat in October last year.
Her body was found in Blackdown Woods near Lurgashall, West Sussex.
Peter Foster, 36, of West Street, Haslemere, entered his plea at Lewes Crown Court and was remanded in custody until a trial on 11 June.
Ms Cooper, originally from York, was on maternity leave following the birth of her second child at the time of her death.
She was described by her family as a devoted mother, who "loved life and lived it to the full".
She served as a detective constable in the Public Protection Investigation Unit based at Guildford police station.
