A motorcyclist was killed when he hit a county boundary sign between East Cleveland and North Yorkshire.

Richard Hansen, from Saltburn, was pronounced dead at the scene on the A171, near Scaling Dam on Monday.

The 24-year-old was in his final year as a media student at Teesside University.

His family described him as "a wonderful, loving, kind son and brother" and said his death would leave a big gap.

Cleveland Police has appealed for any motorists who were in the area at about 15:15 BST on Monday to contact them.
