A woman whose mother went missing eight years ago hopes a police search of a caravan park may lead to solving her disappearance.

Anne Simpson, 60, from the Saffron Lane area of Leicester, was last seen in Skegness in 2004.

A 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with Mrs Simpson's disappearance and has since been released on police bail until 19 June.

Her daughter Jo Hill said she has not been able to move on.

An anonymous tip-off has led to a police search of Lakeside Caravan Park in Sutton on Sea where divers have been searching the lake.

Mrs Hill said: "We have conversations about what could have happened and how it could have happened, and why, but you just can't move on from it.

"It's nice to see something happening and hopefully something will come up and we'll be able to put an end to this."

Mrs Hill added that her mother looked happy and healthy before she disappeared.

Lincolnshire Police said murder was one line of inquiry and are appealing for more information.
