The driver of a car has escaped with "minor injuries" after it became wedged under a lorry and dragged along the M6.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the crash happened near junction 10a, at about 19:40 BST on Monday.

It said the car was trapped under the side of an HGV and that witnesses said it had been dragged along the motorway.

The spokesman for the service added that a man thought to be in his 20s was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital with abdominal injuries.

The spokesman said the lorry driver was uninjured but shaken.
