Passenger hurt as light aircraft crash lands at Nayland

A light aircraft has crash landed in a field on the approach to an airfield on the Suffolk/Essex border.

The ambulance service said it was called to Nayland after the aircraft failed to make the runway at 10:31 BST.

The plane ran through a field and across a footpath before coming to rest on farmland at Campions Hill.

The pilot suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene but a passenger had a broken wrist and ankle and was taken to Colchester Hospital.
