Man dies at Staffordshire V festival
The death of a 22-year-old man at the V Festival in Staffordshire is being investigated by police.
Timothy Brockhurst, of Market Drayton, Shropshire, was found unresponsive and not breathing in a tent at Weston Park in the early hours, police said.
Security staff were alerted and Mr Brockhurst was given emergency aid, but later pronounced dead.
The death of the Stoke Heath man was being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, Staffordshire Police said.
The cause of Mr Brockhurst's death remained unknown and a post-mortem examination would take place early next week, police said.
Specially trained family liaison officers were working to support the family at this "extremely difficult time", they added.
The immediate location was sealed off by police while a forensic examination of the scene took place.
Staffordshire Police said detectives had taken detailed statements from Mr Brockhurst's friends.
Earlier Ch Insp Carl Ratcliffe said: "We will be preparing a report for Her Majesty's coroner who has already been informed about this incident and we are working to support those affected by this incident."
Supt Pete Owen said organisers, emergency services and all those involved in the festival were saddened by Mr Brockhurst's death.
He added: "Our sympathies are with Timothy's family and friends at this time."
A spokesman for the V Festival said: "We are all very saddened by this tragic incident, and we want to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of this young man.
"Our team worked throughout the night to support those affected at the festival site and we want to thank everyone for their co-operation and support during the incident."
