Rapper Aggro Santos rape trial jury retires
The jury in the trial of a rapper accused of raping two women in separate incidents in hotel rooms has retired to consider its verdict.
Former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! contestant Aggro Santos denies raping a teenager in Chichester last May after they had had consensual sex.
He also denies raping another young woman in Yeovil, Somerset in 2010 after having consensual sex with her friend.
Mr Santos, 23, is on trial with Tyrelle Ritchie, 21, who denies sexual assault.
Mr Santos, who was born in Brazil, told Chichester Crown Court he had invited his alleged victim, her sister and two friends back to his hotel room on 7 May last year after performing at the University of Chichester summer ball.
He said he had consensual sex with the 16-year-old, who told him she was 19, but denied forcing her when they had sex for a second time.
The court heard they were joined in the room by Mr Ritchie and the 16-year-old girl's sister.
Mr Santos said: "I noticed they were getting all flirty so I said: 'Why don't we give them some privacy' and we went into the en-suite bathroom."
He said they laid together fully clothed in the empty bath.
He said after he heard Mr Ritchie and the sister leave the room, he returned to the bedroom and had consensual sex with the alleged victim for the second time.
He told the court that while they were having sex, Mr Ritchie came back into the room and asked the girl to perform a sex act, which she did while continuing to have sex with him.
But the trial has heard the teenager said she had been forced into both acts.
Mr Ritchie, of Vauxhall Street, Lambeth, south London, was charged along with Mr Santos last September.
Mr Santos also told the court that in September 2010 he had invited the other alleged victim and her friend to his room at Yeovil Court Hotel after appearing at the opening of Club Soho in the town.
He said he had consensual sex with one woman while the alleged victim went with his booking agent Josh Byron to his room.
The alleged victim said Mr Santos raped her after that - a claim he denied.
He told the court she was angry with him for having sex with her friend, despite her having earlier warned him the friend was going out with her brother.
Mr Santos, of Bickersteth Road, Tooting, south-west London, has appeared under his real name Yuri Santos.
His debut single, Candy, featuring former Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt, reached number five in the UK charts in 2010.
He became more widely known through his appearance in that year's series of ITV's reality game show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in which he reached the last six.
