A Greater Manchester man has been arrested in connection with the death of a Cheshire woman whose body was found in a burning garage.

The body of Diana Lee, 54, was found by firefighters tackling the blaze at her home on Byley Lane in Cranage, near Holmes Chapel, on 9 August.

A post-mortem examination found Mrs Lee had died from head injuries.

Police said a 47-year-old man from Hale "who was known to the victim" had been arrested in connection with her murder.

The man remains in police custody.

Following Ms Lee's death in August, another man from Hale was arrested on suspicion of murder, but he has since been released on bail.
