Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has been given a six-month driving ban.

The 31-year-old failed to inform police about who was driving his Range Rover when it was twice caught speeding on the M42/M6 Toll in Warwickshire.

The England international's vehicle was clocked exceeding variable speed limits of 40mph (65km/h) on 6 March and 25 April near Curdworth.

Crouch was not at Warwickshire Justice Centre in Nuneaton when the ban was imposed on Tuesday.

The striker, from Mottram St Andrew in Cheshire, who was convicted last month, picked up six points on his licence for each offence.

Crouch, capped 42 times by his country, was also ordered to pay a fine of £1,300, prosecution costs of £170 and a £15 victim surcharge.
