Two men from Essex charged over Surrey postal thefts

Two men have been charged in connection with the theft of post in Surrey.

Police said they were arrested after a member of the public reported seeing mail being stolen in the Weybridge area last Thursday.

It is alleged that mail had also recently been stolen from the Woking and East Surrey areas.

Both men, who are from Grays in Essex, appeared before South East Surrey magistrates on Saturday charged with conspiracy to defraud the central bank.

They were remanded in custody and are next due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 14 February.
