On-the-run rapist Dean Goodwin admits murder bid
A serial sex offender has admitted raping and trying to kill a woman while on the run from police.
Dean Goodwin, 32, sparked a manhunt after raping a woman in her home in Poole, Dorset, in November.
Days later he went on to rape and assault another woman in Andover, Hampshire, leaving her for dead.
He admitted attempted murder at Bournemouth Crown Court. It can now be reported he admitted 10 other offences at an earlier hearing.
Goodwin, of Blackburn Road, Poole, will be sentenced on Tuesday.
He brutally raped a woman in Poole on 23 November, sparking a public appeal by police to find him.
He moved on to Andover where he attacked his second victim on 26 November.
A day later, he was arrested by armed police in Poole.
Goodwin admitted attempted murder, five counts of rape, sexual assault, false imprisonment, two counts of burglary and robbery.
He burgled a property in Wimborne on 23 November and another at the Liberal Club in Wallisdown on 25 November.
Goodwin has previous convictions for sexual offences and went on the run in the Bristol area in 2009.
