Liverpool assault: Man jailed for killing Stuart Smith

A 40-year-old man has been jailed for seven years after admitting the manslaughter of a man who died after a street attack.

Stuart Smith, 33, from London died following the assault in Back Colquitt Street in Liverpool on 2 September.

Michael Samuels, of St James's Road, Croydon, was later arrested at Anfield Stadium during Liverpool FC's match against Arsenal.

He denied murder at Liverpool Crown Court.

Last week his co-defendants Hervin Kelly, 42, of Waterfall Road, Southgate, London, and Mark McEwen, 40, of Angel Park Gardens, Brixton, south London, were found not guilty of Mr Smith's murder and manslaughter.
