Redcar market changes aim to boost trade

A Teesside town's market could be changed to a different location and day, in a move aimed at boosting trade.

Redcar and Cleveland Council wants to relocate the stalls to a larger area by the town's clock precinct.

It would also be held on what is believed to be a busier shopping day - Friday, rather than Wednesday.

The council said the plan would attract more stallholders and shoppers, and a recent public survey found that 89% of those who responded supported it.
