Hadley Doran denies Essex and Suffolk slavery charge

A man has pleaded not guilty to holding another man as a slave at properties across Essex and Suffolk.

Hadley Doran, 22, is accused of holding another man in slavery or servitude between 1 July 2012 and 23 March.

Mr Doran, of Gosport, Hampshire, allegedly forced the man to "work for little or no payment, little food and inadequate accommodation".

He denied the charge at Chelmsford Crown Court and the case was adjourned until 15 July.

Mr Doran, of Vian Close, also pleaded not guilty to two assault charges.
