Surrey police officer on fraud charge due in Medway court

A police officer has been charged with fraud and a driving offence.

PC David Fisher, of Rochester, Kent, was charged on Thursday night after an investigation by the Surrey Police professional standards department, a spokesman for the force said.

Mr Fisher, 25, was remanded in custody and is due to appear before magistrates in Medway later.

He is accused of fraud by false representation and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.

Surrey Police said Mr Fisher was currently suspended from duty.
