Reigate, Norwood and Streatham raids: Designer fakes seized
Fake designer goods including aftershave, perfume, handbags and clothing has been seized in police raids in Surrey and south London.
A large quantity of goods was found in Beulah Hill, Upper Norwood, Streatham High Road and Blackthorn Road, Reigate, Surrey Police said.
A man held on suspicion of money laundering and trademark offences was taken to hospital in Tooting.
Police said the man, 61, was stable after complaining of chest pains.
The raids were carried out by officers from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit, with a "significant police presence" at each location.
"These warrants focused on the disruption of organised crime groups," said Det Insp Simon Harsley.
"This is not about just some cheaper fake goods.
"Organised crime groups exploit people in other countries, who are forced to work in sweat factories, under appalling conditions, while the offenders live lavish lifestyles.
"Unknowing customers buy goods which go directly into the pockets of these types of offenders, resulting in more human suffering around the world."
