Two men have been charged with the murder of a man 14 years ago.

Jason Martin-Smith, 28, originally from Camberley, in Surrey, was abducted in Hastings, East Sussex, in August 2001. His body has never been found.

Mark Searle, 36, of Chambers Road, St Leonards, has been charged with murder and conspiracy to kidnap and pervert the course of justice.

Steve McNicol, 42, of Whitefriars Road, Hastings, has been charged with murder and conspiracy to kidnap.

Both men will appear before Hastings magistrates on Friday.

The murder is believed to be linked to the killing of 27-year-old Jimmy Millen in Hastings in October 2001.

He was shot four times at close range outside his home in Tile Barn Road by two men riding on a motorbike.

Mr Martin-Smith was an acquaintance of Mr Millen.

Sussex Police said two other men arrested on Wednesday as part of the investigation into both murders had been released on bail.
