Body found in Hertfordshire missing man murder probe

A body has been found in Bedfordshire by detectives investigating the suspected murder of a 43-year-old man from North London.

The body was recovered in roadworks off the A421 Bedford bypass close to Manor Farm, Brogborough on Thursday evening.

The man, who has not yet been named, was reported as missing to the Met Police on 15 July. A post-mortem examination is due to take place.

Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

A 36-year-old man from Abbots Langley was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

A 29-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead and a 25-year-old woman from Borehamwood were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the murder.

The woman was given police bail while the 29-year-old remains in custody.

Det Ch Insp Mark Ross said: "We continue to appeal for anyone in the area of Bagenal House, Shirley Road in Abbots Langley who may have seen any suspicious behaviour over the last two weeks.

"We are specifically interested in Saturday 10 July, the day before the World Cup Final."

The missing man, who has not yet been named, was last seen on 10 July.
