Charge in missing man murder investigation

A Hertfordshire man has been charged with the murder of a missing north London man.

Zafar Khaliq, 43, was reported missing to the Metropolitan Police on 15 July.

His body was discovered in roadworks along the A421 Bedford bypass close to Manor Farm, Brogborough, on Thursday evening.

Wayne Grimes, 36, from Shirley Road in Abbots Langley has been charged with his murder and will appear at Hatfield Remand Court on Saturday morning.

He has also been charged with obstructing a coroner in his course of duty.

Kieran O'Brien, 29, from King's Cross Road, Hemel Hempstead, has been charged with obstructing a coroner in his course of duty and perverting the course of justice.

Mr O'Brien will also appear at Hatfield Remand Court on Saturday morning.

A 29-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead and a 25-year-old woman from Borehamwood were also arrested and have been released on police bail.
