Woman in 70s in house fire rescue in Hertfordshire


A woman rescued from a house fire in Hertfordshire is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called to a property in Applecroft in Welwyn Garden City at 0600 BST.

The East of England Ambulance Service said the woman, who is believed to be in her 70s, was rescued by firefighters and received treatment at the scene.

She was then taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Welwyn Garden City.
