Man denies murder of housemate in Royston

A man has appeared in court to deny murdering the woman he lived with in Hertfordshire.

Svetlana Olsevaka, 43, from Latvia, was found on 16 March at an address in Ermine Street, Royston. She had died from internal bleeding.

Ms Olsevaka came to the UK to work four years ago.

Tomas Navickas, 31, appeared at St Albans Crown Court and was remanded in custody. The trial is due to begin at Luton Crown Court on 11 October.
