Shopper found injured in Bedford in coma
A man who was found injured in a street in Bedfordshire minutes after leaving a Tesco store is now in a coma.
The Polish man left the Cardington Road store with his shopping at 1941 BST on Saturday night.
A woman passing by found him 15 minutes later lying on the ground in a lay-by near the shopping complex.
He was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where he is in a coma. His mother has flown from Poland to be at his bedside.
Police said it was not clear how he was injured. Officers have urged any witnesses to come forward.
They said they especially wanted to speak to the woman who stopped and tried to help but failed to leave any details of her identity with the ambulance crew who attended the scene.
