A date has been set for the trial of a man charged with the murder of retired Lt Col Riley Workman six years ago.

The 83-year-old former army officer was shot dead on the doorstep of his home in Furneux Pelham, Hertfordshire, on the night of 7 January 2004.

Former gamekeeper, Christopher Docherty-Puncheon, 31, was charged with his murder in July.

At a hearing at Luton Crown Court the trial date was set for 8 June 2011.

Mr Docherty-Puncheon is also charged with having a shotgun with intent to commit an offence.
