A murder inquiry has started after the death of a man in Bedfordshire.
At about 0145 BST Bedfordshire Police were called after reports of an "altercation" near Priory House in Dunstable High Street.
A man in his 40s was taken by ambulance to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A police spokeswoman said two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in custody at Dunstable and Luton police stations.
She said the cause of death of the man is yet to be determined and a post mortem examination will be held later. Police are appealing for witnesses.
Det Insp Mike Trotman, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are still at the very early stages of our investigation.
"I would ask for anyone who was in or around the centre of Dunstable between 0130 and 0200 BST and saw anything which could be related to this incident to contact the police."
