Mother assaulted during Luton robbery

Robbers have broken into a Bedfordshire woman's house, put a pillow case over her head and beaten her.

The victim was asleep, with her seven-year-old child sleeping in a separate room, at an address in Old Bedford Road early on Wednesday.

The two men, described as white and with Irish accents, attacked the woman and kicked her in the back when she woke up, police said.

They took jewellery and cash before running away.
