Charge over fatal street attack in Bedford

Two teenagers have been charged in connection with the death of a man following an attack in Bedford.
Pawel Jozef Smiertka, 43, a Polish national, was attacked in a street on 26 November and died in Addenbrooke's Hospital last Thursday.
The boys, aged 14 and 16 and from Bedford, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and appeared before Bedford magistrates.
Seven teenagers were arrested, two of whom will face no further action.
Three teenagers have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
