The jury in the trial of a fireman accused of causing death by dangerous driving on an emergency call in Luton has failed to reach a verdict.

Leteef Kadri Sheikh, 52, of Marlow Avenue, Luton, died a month after his car was hit by the fire engine, Luton Crown Court was told.

Robert Hulatt, 28, of Bromham near Bedford, denied causing death by dangerous driving on 11 September.

A retrial is expected to take place in 2011.
