Arrest after man stabbed near Milton Keynes dies

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in hospital from stab wounds.

Police were called to the Globe pub in Hartwell Road, Hanslope, near Milton Keynes, at 1037 GMT on Tuesday after reports of a man being stabbed.

A 29-year-old man was rushed to Milton Keynes General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A man from Hanslope was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

Det Supt Rob Mason, leading the investigation, said: "We are in the very early stages of the investigation and we have a man in custody at this time.

"The pub was closed at the time of the incident and the victim and the man in custody are known to each other. There is currently a police scene guard at the pub."

The post-mortem examination and formal identification are expected to take place later in the week.
