A second man has been arrested as part of murder inquiry after a man was found dead in flats in Bedford after suffering a stab wound to the neck.

Inderjit Singh, 39, of Bedford, was discovered in Calshot Walk in the early hours of Christmas Day.

One man arrested by police on Christmas Day has been released on bail. A second man is still in custody, said police on Tuesday.

Police called for the public's help in tracing the knife used in the incident.

Det Ch Insp Steve Collin said: "Now that the snow has melted I ask people to look into their gardens and if they see a knife or similar sharp implement to contact the police."

He said Mr Singh knocked on several doors in the area on Christmas Eve and police were keen to talk to anyone whose door he may have knocked.

He said officers also wanted to hear from anyone in the area of Calshot Walk between the hours of 1600 GMT on Christmas Eve and 0200 GMT Christmas Day.
