Armed robbers tied up shop staff in Hertfordshire

A large quantity of cash has been taken in a raid on a Hertfordshire supermarket early on Tuesday morning.

Two men armed with a handgun threatened staff at the Somerfield supermarket in Woodhall, Cole Green Lane, in Welwyn Garden City at 0600 GMT.

The staff were then tied up by the masked men, who wore black clothing and spoke with London accents.

Police say staff were shaken but not harmed and appealed for information.
