Watford newsagents robber shoots elderly man in arm


A 70-year-old man was shot in the arm by a robber at a newsagents in Watford.

The victim was working at Kays Newsagents in St Albans Road on Thursday when a man came in and threatened him and a female worker.

He ordered them to open the till and then shot the man. He then left the store empty-handed.

Hertfordshire Police said the injured man was taken to hospital, where he is in a serious condition.

The suspect was described as a white, aged about 16 or 17 years, and was wearing a woollen navy blue hat and a white scarf across his nose.
