Dunstable naan bread oven fire contained by fire crews

An oven at a naan bread factory in Bedfordshire was damaged by fire as crews prevented a fire spreading to the rest of the building.

The fire broke out while the industrial oven at Honeytop foods in Dunstable was undergoing maintenance.

Two crews and an aerial platform team fought the blaze in the building on the Woodside Industrial Estate for about two hours on Saturday evening.

No-one was injured during the incident, the fire service said.

Commander Mark Barter said: "The oven was not being used for production but some sort of maintenance when the fire started.

"Our crews did an excellent job in containing the fire. It could have been a lot worse."
