The slip road from the M1 in Hertfordshire to the M25 has reopened after an overturned lorry closed the road for more than 12 hours.

The lorry blocked junction 6a at 0645 GMT on Tuesday, causing long traffic queues southbound into the evening.

The driver suffered severe head injuries and was taken to a hospital in London, police said.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or people who saw the vehicle before the incident to contact them.
