Arson damage at Beadlow haulage firm estimated at £1.5m

Damage caused by an arson attack at a haulage firm in Bedfordshire has been estimated to have cost up to £1.5m.

Up to 18 lorries and a tank of diesel were destroyed in the fire at Thomas Bros Excavations (Luton) Ltd, Shefford Road, Beadlow, at 0300 BST on 30 May.

Bedfordshire Police said the fire was started deliberately. Police have appealed for information.

No one was on the site at the time. Firefighters spent several hours bringing the blaze under control.
