England cricketers honoured in Queen's birthday list
Two England cricketers from the three counties have been honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
Buckinghamshire-based England captain Andrew Strauss, 34, was appointed an OBE for services to cricket.
Former Bedford School pupil and England and Essex batsman Alastair Cook, 26, was made an MBE for services to cricket.
The cricketers were part of the first England team to win the Ashes in Australia in 24 years.
Watford mayor Dorothy Thornhill is appointed MBE for services to local government.
Bill Parfitt, chairman and chief executive of Luton-based General Motors, becomes a CBE for services to the automotive industry.
