A man and a woman have been arrested following the discovery of a man's body in a Hertfordshire river.

Police discovered the body on Wednesday afternoon while searching the River Lea in Ware for missing man Daniel Cockman, 31, of Gladstone Road, Ware.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene but formal identification of his body has yet to be carried out.

Police said a 40-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both from Ware, had been arrested and were in custody.
