Appeal over suspected gun incident in Luton street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a gun was reportedly fired in Luton.

Bedfordshire Police were called to the sound of a loud bang in Crowridge Crescent about 16:30 GMT on Tuesday.

The suspected gunman is thought to have fled the scene on a moped, police said.

A group of youths were seen brandishing weapons and driving erratically earlier in the day and it is thought the two incidents are linked.

Det Sgt Louisa Glynn, said: "Bedfordshire Police take firearms-related crime extremely seriously and will not tolerate guns in our towns.

"It is imperative we find this suspected gunman as soon as possible."
