A third teenager has been arrested over the death of a 42-year-old man following a New Year's Eve party.

Michael Geffken died from a heart attack after being stabbed in the chest in Hemsley Close, Luton, at around 03:00 GMT on 1 January.

The 18-year-old suspect is being held in custody. Two other teenagers - a boy and a girl - have been released on police bail.

Mr Geffken had been attending a party at his partner's house.

Police said Mr Geffken, a German national who had lived in the UK for "many years", died shortly after an "altercation".

Officers said a murder inquiry had been launched and are appealing for people who were at the party to come forward.

Neighbours said "loud music" had been played at the house.

One resident, who declined to be named, said: "There were young girls running up and down the road screaming. There must have been quite a few people at the party."
