A man and woman found dead at a house in Hertfordshire have been named by police.

The bodies of Christine and Ronald Pearmain were discovered in Norman Avenue, Bishop's Stortford, on Friday.

Police said Mrs Pearmain, 64, died from a chest stab wound. Toxicology tests are taking place to establish the cause of 66-year-old Mr Pearmain's death.

Detectives said they did not suspect any "third party involvement".

Police were called after a passer-by reported concerns.

Det Ch Insp Mark Ross, of Hertfordshire Police, said: "This is a very tragic case.

"I would stress that we do not believe there has been any third party involvement in this case. Specialist support is being given to the families at this very difficult time."
