Charges over 2kg of heroin in saris at Heathrow Airport

A man from Buckinghamshire has been charged after about 2kg of heroin was found sewn into saris placed in luggage at Heathrow Airport.

The Border Force said its officers found the heroin on Monday and arrested a 24-year-old man from Aylesbury who had arrived on a flight from Pakistan.

He was charged with importation offences, a spokesman said.

The man appeared before Uxbridge magistrates earlier and was remanded in custody to re-appear on 26 June.

Four men from Aylesbury were also arrested and bailed until 17 August.
