Neglect charge after woman with dementia left on bus

A council employee has been charged with neglect after a woman with dementia was locked on a bus overnight.

The woman, aged in her 80s, was picked up from a day centre in Luton on 2 May and should have been dropped off later at her sheltered accommodation.

However, she was not found until about 14 hours later when the bus depot reopened the next day.

Susan McLaughlin, of Brunel Road, Luton, will appear before Luton Magistrates' Court on 8 August.
