A man has died following a fire at a garage workshop in Milton Keynes.

The man was rescued by firefighters from Pluto Autos on Church Street, Bletchley, in the early hours but he died at the scene.

The service said about half of the ground floor of the two-storey building was affected by the fire.

Thames Valley Police said they were treating the death as unexplained. Road closures have been put in place during the investigation.

Firefighters said they found the man in the workshop area and carried him outside, but they could not resuscitate him.

Greg Smith, group manager from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends and the local community.

"Firefighters will be visiting the area today to provide reassurance and offer fire safety advice to local residents."
