High Wycombe fatal 'rock' crash: Plea to taxi drivers

Police investigating a fatal crash in which a motorcyclist struck concrete "deliberately" left in the road hope taxi drivers have information.

The rider, a 52-year-old man from High Wycombe who is yet to be named, died in Daws Hill Lane in the town on Sunday.

Police were called by a witness at 06:30 BST.

Insp Paul Winks said he wanted to hear from anyone who walked along Daws Lane in the early hours and taxi drivers who dropped off passengers in the area.

"We believe the motorcyclist collided with a large piece of concrete that had deliberately been moved on to the carriageway," he added.

The rider had been on a blue Honda CBR.

Ch Insp Colin Seaton said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with the man's family at this time.

"I would like to not only appeal on behalf of the police but the family and the community, for the person responsible to come forward."
